It happened many years ago, but I still decided that I have to tell this story.... due to recent food poison news happened in Taiwan also from a Malaysian cuisine restaurant..... That night, 6 of us went to PMC and ordered some food, as I mentioned, it was many years ago so I don't recall what exactly we ordered. After eating, that night, all of us started having diarrhea and vomiting... some of us had lighter symptoms, some were really bad, couldn't even stand up, but we were all lightheaded, weak, cold all over and a lot of vomiting and diarrhea involved. None of us went to the hospital though, luckily, we all got better and survived few days later (or I wouldn't be able to tell you this story here).. The recent food poison happened in Taiwan reminded me of this incident, the symptoms were similar to ours, instead, two of them eventually died. Not sure if there's any certain condiment that Malaysian cuisine adds (perhaps the "Black Soy Sauce"?), I just felt this is such a creepy coincidence....

First time I've ever had Malaysian food! It did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious! The prices were okay, but you do get generous portions. The atmosphere is nice as well. I would've given a full 5 stars but the service was lackluster and it wasn't crowded.

I visited Penang Malaysian Cuisine a couple days ago as I was in search of some good Malaysian food. I had amazing Malaysian food when I visited New Zealand a couple months ago and was hoping to find something similar in Southern California because as you may know, food in SoCal typically does not disappoint! The restaurant was big and could accommodate many people, but there were only 3 other parties seated when I went. My spouse and I ordered the roti with curry, the pasebur, the chicken curry, and the char kway teow. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. While the roti was warm and delicious, the chicken curry fell flat and was flavorless. The pasebur had OK flavor, but the bean sprouts were overly wet and the eggs that came with the dish did not look fresh. The char kway teow was decent, but not something I would come back for. And while none of our dishes had fish, I could taste a faint/subtle taste of fish while eating. I will say that the service was good despite the food. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly throughout the whole experience. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future based on the other positive reviews, but I wasn't overly impressed for my first visit.
