Very disappointing experience at this Pickleman’s location on August 26. I stopped in to order a sandwich. Unfortunately the issue was not the wait or even that my sandwich was made incorrectly multiple times. It was how the situation was handled by Mason Switzer, the Area Manager. My sandwich was prepared incorrectly the first time. I explained that I did not want mayo, lettuce, or tomato and asked for it to be remade. When it was prepared a second time, I repeated that I wanted only pickle, red onion, and parmesan. While watching the sandwich being made...I noticed lettuce was being added again... I clarified again that I did not want lettuce and repeated the toppings I had requested. Instead of simply correcting the order Mason told me that I had asked for lettuce. I explained that I had not and again stated exactly what I wanted. He then told me that I needed to be more clear. I was very clear about my order... and found it disappointing to be told otherwise rather than simply having the mistake acknowledged and corrected.... The interaction continued back and forth including comments being made under his breath that I found inappropriate and disrespectful. What made the situation especially uncomfortable was that this happened in front of the employees and the other customers waiting in line. I did not feel that the situation was handled professionally particularly by someone in a management position. I was eventually given a refund but I was disappointed by his lack of professionalism and the standard he set as a “leader.” As a manager I would expect Mason to set a positive example for the staff and know how to handle a customer concern respectfully and professionally. Unfortunately that was not my experience. I left feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed by the entire interaction. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, reviews how this situation was handled, and considers whether this reflects the standard of leadership and customer service Pickleman’s expects from its management team..
