Abby was our server at the playwrightAbby was our server at the Playwright - and she was just as welcoming and fantastic as the amazing hostess who immediately made us feel welcome. Abby was very patient and was great with recommendations for dishes to share, I can highly recommend both the artichoke dip and the whipped feta - upscale and shareable and delicious! Since we were on a weekday, at some point they close off half the restaurant and switch to a late night menu, and so we switched to Marlena D who was our amazing second server. Reminded me that the bartenders are very talented when it comes to mocktails Drink menu is extensive, beers are on top as well as a the great cocktail menu that we will have to come back to enjoy more of. This will now be my go-to place next time I am in Southie! Thanks Abby and Marlena and The Playwright Team who made us feel welcome!!! worst experience in boston yet. inattentive servers, bartenders did not care whether or not i was served, charged me double for my drink when i finally was attended to. unbelievable and will not be returning. better off down the street or staying home. if you’re visiting from out of town, spend your money elsewhere.
