Note from February 2022 visit. Best Fried Chicken in Metro Detroit, bet you didn't know for over a decade. Pollo Chapin; a little yellow house trimmed in green, serving up some of the best fried chicken in the D along with Guatemalan specialties. Diners are treated to a bowl of marvelous Chicken Noodle Soup outstanding unique Flavor. We ordered a 12 pc Chicken devored it all, we've been a dozen times since they opened. A real house you eat inside the dining room, owners live upstairs. A small Patio for outside dining when warm weather returns.Also had Mac n Cheese, Fries and the Award Winning Tamal. Guatemalan tamale (tamal), wrapped in a banana leaf the masa is made with broth and lard producing a moist, rich and fluffy outside to a tasty filling of chicken, vegetables and spices. A must try big enough to share. Look for the big Yello House on Junction just north of West Vernor, you can see Holy Reedemer.
