The best pizza I've had in LA, I'm comparing it to Luigi's Pizza in Brooklyn NY. If ykyk. The slices do not flop, the sauce has great flavor and is just right. Overall, delicious. Will always look to Prime when I'm in LA and crave pizza. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The Gold Standard for a NY Slice in LA If you are a pizza purist looking for that perfect New York-style fold, Prime Pizza is the undisputed heavy hitter. I’ve tried a lot of "NY-style" spots in California, but Prime is the only one that consistently nails the 48-hour fermented crust—it’s thin, firm, and has that perfect "snap" without the dreaded "LA flop." The Standouts: Spicy Pepperoni Square: This is the game-changer. It’s thick, crispy on the edges, and topped with Calabrian chili and a spicy tomato sauce that actually has a kick. The Cheese Slice: The ultimate test. The sauce-to-cheese ratio is a science here, using all-natural mozzarella and local California tomatoes. It’s simple, greasy in the best way. The House-Made Ranch: I don’t care if you aren't a "ranch person." Their buttermilk ranch is herbaceous, fresh, and basically drinkable. Get a side (or a bottle) for your crusts. The staff is always moving fast, and even during a heavy Friday night rush, the quality doesn't dip. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or a full Sicilian square pie for the group, Prime proves that you don't need gimmicks when you have a perfect crust. I'm already a fan of Prime Pizza having eaten at another local location, so was happy to try the El Segundo location to my self-appointed pizza crawl before picking up family at nearby LAX. They do NYC style slices exactly right at Prime...perfectly thin and crispy crust with the right balance of cheese and sauce on the top. The Sicilian slice with its additional toppings and thicker but still perfect square pie based crust is a delightful add on. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Service was perfect in that sense. My NY cheese slice tasted good but as you can see from my photo came, umm, circumcised. So slightly less pizza than I'd hoped for...but other than that it tasted great and on brand with the other Prime location I was familiar with. If you want a legit NY pie...you can't go wrong with Prime. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
