---- Introduction: ---- Primos, located in Ripon, California, offers a traditional Hispanic Mexican dining experience. Despite a minor hiccup with the service animal accommodation, our visit was enjoyable, and the food was delightful. ---- Atmosphere: ---- Outside: Primos is situated in a plaza with several other establishments, including Austin's Coffee. Although the exterior may not stand out, the interior is inviting. Inside: The restaurant features a traditional Mexican decor with retro tables and chairs. The well-lit space has plenty of windows, creating a bright and welcoming environment. The bar area is small and could use a bit more flair, but it's a comfortable dining space overall. ---- Food Quality: ---- Hard Shell Taco: I had the hard shell taco, which was crunchy but slightly dry. I rate it a 7.5 out of 10. The taco sauce could use more moisture. Molcajete: This dish, filled with meats, vegetables, and a lot of cheese, was incredible. It may look a bit messy, but it tastes amazing. Due to the variety of ingredients, each bite offers a different flavor. My fiancé loved it with the corn tortilla, while I preferred using the salsa chips to dip into it. Drinks: We tried two different drinks. One of them was particularly refreshing, with a perfect balance of sweetness and a hint of tamarind flavor. Salsa and Chips: The restaurant offers two types of salsa--one spicy and chunky, and the other a milder tomato-based salsa. Both tasted fresh, likely made in the morning, and paired perfectly with the chips, which seemed to be made in-house. Been wanting try this place for awhile . It's a very nice atmosphere but I thought the food was a bit bland . I got a specialty that wasn't that special. I might give them another shot and try the shrimp as maybe it was an off night

We tried the new Primos Restaurant and Tequila Bar in Ripon for lunch today. Food was excellent and service superb. Kendra, our server, took excellent care of us checking in with us before, during and after our food was served. My shrimp tacos were excellent with plenty of shrimp in all three. We really enjoyed the chips, salsa and black beans served before the meal arrived. The beans are puree'd into a smooth creamy mixture. The restaurant is very roomy, clean and the ambience excellent. Pricing was a good value for the food we were served. Didn't try the bar so maybe next time for dinner we can try the Margaritas.
