Honestly, we just had the most thoughtful and lovely experience here. We came for dinner (it was my niece Sandy’s 5th birthday tonight) and I asked if, by any chance, they had vanilla ice cream for a birthday desert for Sandy. They don’t serve/have ice cream, but immediately told me that they would go out and buy some ice cream so they could give her desert — and they did — with a candle. It really went above and beyond. That level of sincerity and kindness is so touching. The chef also came over to our table to make sure we were having a nice time. It makes you feel valued and honoured, and I think that’s a beautiful sentiment and culture to foster in a restaurant. We were so touched at the gesture and the generosity and it speaks volumes about what type of experience Proper offers their patrons. The service was excellent and personable; not rushed and attentive. Thank you so much for making our night so special. We’re really grateful and will absolutely be back again.
