It has long been our policy for offers and discounts to be valid on Monday to Friday only. We do use a QR code payment system for our customers' convenience which incurs a small 49p charge. As you correctly identified, you can pay by card directly with a member of our team and this charge does not apply. I'm sure the waiter thought he was just being helpful when he went through our hot drinks with you personally on a one to one basis. Our team pride themselves on customer service so I do think your reading of a smile as 'sarcastic' is potentially a misread of the situation. With regards to pricing, we keep our prices as competitive as possible in an economic climate of rising food prices and multiple other financial pressures which come with operating as an ethical and sustainable hospitality business while also looking after our staff.
