I highly recommend this bakery, for 5 years living in Saudi i can say that this is one of my favorite, cashier and the staff are friendly. Don’t miss the PANDESAL you will love it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great Filipino Bread at Queens Bakery – Needs a Little Update Review: Yesterday, December 27, 2024, I stopped by Queens Bakery in Abu Bakr Sulimaniya to grab some bread. I got 3 pieces of pan de coco for 5 SR and 4 pieces of pan de monggo for 5 SR. This bakery is known for its hot pandesal , and I can definitely see why – it tastes just like the classic Filipino pandesal! They also have a great variety of Filipino breads and pastries , and I’ve got to say, their Spanish bread is another favorite of mine. As a Filipino, I usually look for Filipino staff , but to my surprise, there were no Filipino workers when I went. The staff are neutral, which is totally fine – here in Saudi Arabia , you don’t always get super chatty service since most people here are pretty neutral. But I do think it would be awesome if the owner considered hiring Filipino staff in sales, especially since the bakery’s main customers are Filipino. The shop has a classic vibe, not too modern, but when I was there, I saw lots of Filipinos picking up the pandesal, which is super affordable compared to other bakeries in the area . The pandesal is just 1 SR for 3 pieces, and it tastes pretty close to the real deal from the Philippines . One thing I noticed is that they don’t offer cakes , which is something Filipinos really love, especially during birthdays or holidays. Cakes are a big part of Filipino celebrations, so I think adding some cake options to the menu would be a great idea. The bakery is easy to find since it’s along the highway ️, so it’s really convenient if you’re in the area. There were a lot of customers when I went, which shows there’s definitely potential here. But I think the shop could really benefit from a little renovation to make it more inviting. People these days seem to prefer modern-looking places, and a fresh update could help attract even more customers . Since it’s a bakeshop, I also think it would be great if they offered coffee to go with the bread. Maybe adding some tables and chairs inside or outside would make it feel more like a cozy café. It would be like a little coffee shop, but with Filipino bread, which would definitely make it more inviting for people to stay and enjoy their food. Overall, the breads are tasty, but not super amazing. They’re good, but I think they could be even better with a little tweaking . I also noticed that the signboard looks kind of old and rusty , and it doesn’t even show the real name of the bakery – it says “Pastry” instead of Queens Bakery. It would be great if the owner could update the sign to show the proper name. And if they added delivery options through delivery apps, I’m sure it would bring in even more customers. If you’re craving Filipino bread, especially pandesal, Queens Bakery is definitely worth a visit.
