Thank you for a very inspiring and fun afternoon doing the introductory baking course yesterday, not to mention the amazing haul of different breads we went home with. We made pain levain, focaccia, ciabatta and baguettes and returned home with even more .I would highly recommend the course, as I would Rise itself. Delicious, healthy bread and sweet and savoury baked goods with excellent vegan options.

Here they handle bread with dirty hands!!! I truly love this bakery. I’ve been a customer for almost two years. But about a year ago, I saw a girl sweeping the floor with a broom, and then, when I came in and asked for bread, she picked it up with the same bare hands and put it into a bag. I was shocked and asked her to use gloves or tongs. Despite this, I kept coming back because the bread is very good. Just a few days ago, I came in again to buy bread, and right in front of me, a guy picked up the bread with his bare hands, put it in a bag, then used those same hands to take my cash and give me change. I’m honestly shocked. Dear locals, please let me know in the comments if you think it’s acceptable that bread we eat is handled with hands that have just touched a broom or money, or am I the only one concerned about this? Most likely, I won’t be coming back, as my concerns don’t seem to be taken seriously. Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your concerns. All staff regularly wash hands, between tasks. It appears in these instances this was not upheld and we will ensure that all staff are reminded that hygiene is a top priority. It would be sad to loss a regularly customer, so do please come in and talk to me or contact me directly so we can discuss your feedback.

Absolutely delicious! I’ve wanted to try the 99 Cruffin for so long, first time I saw them was at Café Yolk but then I stumbled across Rise Bakehouse. There is so much options to choose from but things do sell out quickly. I’m obsessed with black forest gateaux so when I saw they had mixed this with a croissant I had to try and it did not disappoint. Have told all my friends about here and will have to come again to try more. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
