Boring stuff: Parking-- on the street or pay for valet Groups-- yes Reservations-- yes Dogs-- outdoor seating ya Fun stuff: Staff-- very cool Service-- A+ Pricing-- decent Music-- good, millennials come through Food-- not typical brunch stuff, thankfully Mimosas-- Yes Interior-- very cool, moody. Came here for my best friend's birthday. There were 16 of us. Conclusion: Probably the coolest brunch spot in the South Bay. Bring your friends and designated driver.

Can I just say Hokkaido milk bread? I'd seriously come back just for this. It's better than anything I expected. The Yuzu Shio ramen was a bright citrus take on what can often be a heavy and rich broth, an unexpected twist on Japanese noodles. The lobster roll was worthwhile and whisky cocktail deep and tasty. The Matcha Tiramisu didn't live up to my expectations--it was made well and served in a sake box, but a bit heavy, not very interesting, and the marscapone could have been toned down and better balanced perhaps infused with matcha. With all the subtle surprises for each of the other dishes I was expecting something less straight forward particularly when desserts can open doors to endless creativity. RYLA is a welcome add to the Hermosa Beach scene and a much needed space for dishes prepared with Asian inspiration. I'll be back to try the brunch.
