A surprising foodie’s find of very good Thai food with a a good measure of authenticity. The listing of Crab Rangoon and ordinary western side salad, diminishes my excitement. The pesky Crab Rangoon, which IS NOT Thai NOR is it creation of chefs from the great cuisines of Asia, is a big mistake. . The second mistake is the side salad, which is nothing more than bowl of iceberg lettuce that is the most non-nutritious vegetable . Otherwise the whole menu is truly Thai . It’s more than the usual Pads and Red/Green curries. The Crispy Duck Basil is outstanding , moist and flavorful. The Ginger Vegetables are crunchy and well balanced. Service is very good. The ambience is very pleasing . Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dishes labeled. Had take out. Let’s start with the good: 1. Was ready super fast and staff were v friendly 2. Tom kha goong was very good. Shrimp were plentiful. Spiced as requested. 3. Yellow curry was good. The bad: 1. Fresh spring rolls had iceberg lettuce, noodles, carrots, cucumber, and maybe a tiny bit of cilantro. This is not hard to make. All you need are fresh ingredients. What happened to the basil, mint, option for shrimp? Dipping sauce was so-so. Very disappointing. This is a mainstay of Thai cuisine. 2. Pad Thai shrimp and pad Thai veggies were both greasy, clumpy, few herbs, few peanuts. Just lousy in general. Veggies were few and poorly cooked. Another mainstay underwhelming. Grabbed a quick lunch to go from Real Thai Cuisine. Ordered the Tom Yum with tofu, the fire cracker chicken, drunken noodles, dumplings, and spring rolls. Note that lunch comes with a soup, so don't over order on soup! Everything was great, but the other reviewers weren't joking when they said the spice level is insane. We ordered mild/no spice and the dish came out at a 4 minimum. My drunken noodles were ordered at a 4 and were easily a 7! I love spicy food, but I was sweating for sure. I will definitely be back to real Thai, to try more menu items!
