I’ve tried to order from this place after having it one time and it was amazing and I keep getting a lot of back-and-forth. The lady I was on the phone with said the manager that was there only speaks French so I cannot speak to him, however she can speak to him, but she speaks English. Then she took my order and I hung up real quick said I’ll call right back I just need to see what my friend wants to eat Then I called back she tells me last call was at 8:40 PM and she cannot take my order. I tried to say that she had just started taking my order before I hung up and to call my friend real. It was At 8:49 that I had hung up I managed to call back three minutes later and then she couldn’t take my order It was ridiculous. Their website is wrong. They’re closed on Wednesdays only even though they say they’re open till 930. The lady says they’re open till nine this Establishment no matter how good the food is is very lacking in communication. They seriously need to improve in this aspect. Food: 5 Service: 1

I am very sorry for the inconvenience.I am having a hard time to get the right stuff.I am working on it and we will have proper management.

First time ordering. We enjoyed the Mac n cheese greens and candied yams with our baked chicken, fried chicken and 2 piece catfish dinners. Cornbread muffin was a plus. We will be ordering again since most descent soul food places are not in the Northshore of Chicagoland. Keep up the good work Howard Street Soul. Tried to call and leave the a verbal thank you but no answer so I left a voicemail of appreciation. Price per person: $50–60 Food: 4 Service: 4

I ordered the catfish dinner. The spaghetti, no flavor and the black eyed peas were seasoned that good. They gave me a burned, dry hard muffin. Very disappointing. North side just doest have good soul food.
