The burgers were great. We were asked how we wanted them cooked. Having learned my lesson that medium means rare etc in France, we plumped for well done, but they actually came well done :-) Really tasty, a good bun and unusually with chunkier chips.
The decor inside is like many French smaller restaurants - "individual and of its time", but there's a pleasant courtyard also with a big wisteria.
Service was great - the waiter was pleasant and more than helpful. Example - the burger comes with cheese if you want. I said "non" as I was nursing a fragile stomach, but he asked if I'd like something else - perhaps some mushrooms? He didn't need to (it's not a menu choice), but it says a lot that he did. He was also pleasant to the lady and her dog that arrived shortly afterwards.
This place is a few yards away from the main square (1 minute walk) and the other restaurants, but directly opposite the chateau gates. If you're in the mood for a simpler, casual meal (they do a lot more than burgers), I recommend.
