We had a reservation for 11AM on Sunday, for a birthday brunch. We were quickly seated upstairs. Our waitress immediately offered us water to start, sparkling, spring, & tap. We opted for spring water & were served a bottle of Acqua Panna. To begin, we ordered the French Toast Bites and they were absolutely delightful. The bread was crispy on the outside but nice and soft inside. The bread itself was delicious but when paired with the sauce, it exceeded expectations. The sauce was a dulce de leche & it was perfect, not too sweet. We could've drowned each bite in sauce. The menu advertised the bites as having coconut and Brazilian nut but neither of us detected either. Regardless, it was our favorite part of the brunch. For our entree, we each got a sandwich. While we waited, we noted the area was a bit dark with cherry blossom decorations everywhere. And it was loud. Maybe the music was too loud and caused everyone to have to speak over it. Nonetheless, we found it hard to have a conversation sitting across from each other. When the food arrived, we dug right in. To begin with: the burger. The burger was good. Bacon was added for an additional cost but it made the burger harder to eat. The burger itself was big, & a bit messy but adding the bacon made it tough to take a clean bite. Maybe because it was thick, it was chewy. The sauces on the sandwich were good. Next, the chicken sandwich. I initially ordered the sandwich plain, but after talking it out, I decided to add an egg to it. The egg came on the side. Small error, no big deal. The sandwich was not too spicy, it had good flavor. Some bits were chewy & fatty but overall very good. I did add the egg to the sandwich, but immediately had an incident that caused the egg to spill everywhere, so I opted to just eat it on the side. The surprising star of the meal were the fries. They were deliciously seasoned & crispy to perfection. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. Thank you Residents DC!

Follow for personal reviews of some of the hottest spots for dinner, drinks, and fun around the DMV! ------------------ Residents Cafe & Bar - 1306 18th St NW (Closest stations: DuPont Station or Farragut North) Early dinner tonight with one of my favorite people! Always a good time of laughs, good food, and drinks! Here's what we ordered: Porcini Croquettes (shared as app) The Burger (that's the name ) We both ordered it. Drinks Fuji Apple Habanero x2 Ambience: Location: Food: Staff: Cost: Overall: I have no complaints about my visit to @residentsdc It was my first time visiting and I will definitely be returning! I love the "outdoor" seating and as someone who loathessss the cold weather, babyyy the fire/heat lamps were perfect and made the patio feel like a toasty living room. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. I was on the fence, I wanted a burger but wasn't sure how I felt about a pretzel bun. I'm so glad I went with it. The first bite...amazing! The fries were cooked perfectly and came out hot! We didn't do dessert but will try the chocolate bar on my next visit. Overall I enjoyed @residentsdc Will definitely be back!
