Académie rue Crescent.We had received gift vouchers for this restaurant, so we initially returned with confidence. Unfortunately it was very bad for us. Dismal atmosphere, very old furniture Simply two tables set up Two people, one in the kitchen, the other serving No drinks menu, no aperitifs! As for the dishes, a faded salad, defrosted squid, reheated spaghetti, a thinly sliced veal escalope, worrying vegetables and a questionable sauce... We left everything there and left!!!! The little we tasted made us sick two hours later... I invite the owners to be aware of the lack of respect they showed by serving us what we could not describe as a meal. We still paid 75 euros with the two gift vouchers worth a total of 100 Dollars and refused the delta in any case we could not consider returning to one of the establishments of this brand and strongly advise against any attempt if you consult this opinion . A compliment for the two very fresh Zero Cola which the person on site nevertheless seems to have had difficulty finding. Ps Don’t take any risks even in the case of a Gift Voucher. Service: Dine in Price per person: CA$30–40 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I've only ever eaten at l'Academie once in my life so this was the second time. I was a bit hesitant to go but my group wanted to try it out. The interior looks old and dated...with mustard yellow paint. Our booth seat near the front of the resto was also tired and the fabric was piling. While this might be French dining, it definitely isn't finery. That aside, our group wanted moules et frites so I decided to give it a try as well. It was a Monday night and apparently, the mussels are $8 off, meaning it cost only $21. That was a pleasant surprise when I received the bill. I asked for flavor recommendation and the waiter suggested the Flamande as a popular option with leeks, white wine and cream. While the broth was flavorful and creamy, there were about 8 mussels that didn't properly open (probably undercooked). The fries were definitely the least tasty fries I've had in a while--texture-wise, they were ok but tasted like fries cooked in older oil(?). I wish they would've served crispy coated fries instead to really soak up the broth. You can BYOB/W here but we didn't. The poutine while wayyyy overpriced for what it was worth was alright but nothing to write home about. The little house salad was also expensive considering it was just a spring mix with a few strands of carrot tossed in salad dressing. Anywho... our friends really liked their cheesy Coquille St-Jacques with a couple chunks of shrimp and scallops and lots of gratineed cheese. Service was basic so overall, for a Monday mussels dinner, I think it's sort of acceptable given the discount.
