We went to Le Tivoli restaurant on a weeknight, taking advantage of the beautiful weather to dine outside in a pleasant setting. We ordered appetizers, entrees, mains, desserts and wine. Unfortunately, the starters arrived as soon as the appetizers, even before the wine was served, which disappointed us a bit as we would have liked to take our time to finish the appetizers before moving on to the starters. The restaurant was uncrowded with only a few tables occupied for 3 servers. However, our red wine, a St Nicolas de Bourgeuil, was served after the starter, surprisingly in an ice bucket. We were surprised because the ideal serving temperature for a French red wine is generally between 16 and 18 degrees. The waiter explained to us that this wine should be tasted like a white wine, but we didn't comment out of politeness, although that didn't convince us. A French red wine should normally be served at room temperature, even in summer. If we wanted a chilled wine, we would have ordered a white or rosé wine. The red wine served cold had lost all its flavor. It might be a good idea for the staff to take an oenology course to better understand the specificities of serving the wines on their menu. The dishes arrived very quickly, which did not allow us to really enjoy our meal. The waiter was rather careless and let his colleague take over without really showing interest in our table, which didn't seem professional to us. When we left he was still sitting in a chair without saying goodbye or thank you. Service: 3 Location: 5
