My girlfriend and I were melting in the heat and saw a sign for “Coconut Ice Cream” and we had to stop. We expected an ice cream bar and instead got a glass filled with ice cream and honey. Absolutely incredible! We also wanted a little snack so we asked for some bread and the owner made us some toast with butter. Yes, very simple but man was it good! Price per person: C$1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great experience at El Pescadito Restaurant! The place has been recently remodeled and looks much better than the old photos online. Everything feels clean, fresh, and welcoming. It’s also conveniently located near the main road and has internet access. The fish is super fresh from the island. I highly recommend the guapote or tilapia. Delicious food and great local vibe! The owners are from Mérida, so by visiting you’re also supporting a local family, which makes the experience even more special. Don’t miss their homemade coconut ice crea, it’s absolutely delicious.They also offer a variety of fresh natural juices that are very refreshing. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: C$200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: They also have good vegetarian options, which I really appreciated. For breakfast, you can enjoy a typical Nicaraguan meal with gallo pinto, eggs, homemade cheese, and fried plantains, simple but delicious. For lunch or dinner, they offer vegetable soups and fresh fruit salads, all prepared with local ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and natural. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, and a great place to enjoy authentic local food

Definitely has good prices but I’ve found most of the hostels have specialty nights where you can find fresh and affordable meals as well. This place I found while exploring but if I was close I would have tried it again.
