Ricco Returns We spent 2 night on our trip sampling the culinary delights of this snuggly positioned gem that lies away from the beach front group of restaurants close to the taxi area in Albufeira’s beautiful old town. The service was the real plus here. Whatever wages they are paying Fabio better be enough to keep his services as he is a star. Not too many servers in this day and age do enough to merit their tip, but Fabio excels in his service and his personality. The restaurant itself is well laid out with both indoor and outdoor dining. We dined in both evenings on warm July evenings and it was warm in places but there are ceiling fans to aid. The atmosphere is excellent with good music being played at a good level so that you can chat and hear the buzz of chat across the restaurant. The food was very good on both nights with generous portions of all courses. We had a mixture of prawns and garlic bread and the prawn starter is exceptional. Main courses were meat dishes with generous portions. The steaks on the second night were a little undercooked and that is why it’s a 4 star for the food, but again Fabio was on hand to ensure the main one was rectified quickly. In all a great experience on the 2 nights and highly recommended to anyone looking for a good evening in the Old Town. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €40–45 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We all ordered the shrimp pasta and were expecting a flavorful dish, especially since the waitress told us it was a great choice. Unfortunately, the pasta was quite bland, and we had to add salt and lemon ourselves to bring out the flavor. The portion was extremely small with very little pasta and only three shrimp. We left dinner still hungry and felt that we could have made a better pasta ourselves at home. On the other hand, the drinks were excellent and the service was outstanding! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €25–30 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We had a group of 20 of us and the service was brilliant. I made the booking for the Friday night only a couple of days before and they still managed to get us all seated together across 2 tables. Service was quick enough to say that it was a very busy evening. Drinks were gorgeous, nice portion sizes and plenty to choose from. Cannot fault, highly recommend Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
