The restaurant apparently had a glitch in their credit card processing back in August. Tips were not processed as part of the final bill total. Four weeks later (this last Friday night), I got a fraudulent on-line alert for a $20 charge at the restaurant. I contacted Chase who canceled the credit card and rejected the charge as fraudulent. I now have to change credit card numbers with 16 auto-pay accounts when my new card arrives. The next day I called and spoke with the restaurant manager to warn her of the fraudulent charge. She informed me that the restaurant was charging back over $15K worth of tips to credit cards used during their glitch. Are you kidding me!! How many other customers will be canceling their cards when these charges come through? The manager's attitude was "you authorized the charge when you signed the receipt, we are not going to eat $15K in losses". I did not authorize a second charge and certainly didn't have any warning that an on-line charge would appear one month later. My experience, and those listed by others below, certainly point to the poor ownership and management of this restaurant. The beautiful view from the deck is not worth the attitude of the staff.

It's under new ownership. Now called the Tipsy Trout. We were a large group of 11, half were kids. They got a table ready for us on the patio and even made room for the dog, which was nice. Our waitress took our drink and food order right away, we were starving. The beers came out and half of them were wrong. It took a little while to track down our waitress to get the beers corrected. We knew our food would take a while because we were a large group, but 45 minutes seemed excessive. I ordered the lettuce wraps for $16. They gave me a whole head of lettuce that hasn't been washed! They cut off the bottom and just suck it on the plate! I asked everyone at the table if they saw the dirt. Everyone agreed it was too risky to eat, didn't want a food borne illness. I told the waitress about the dirty lettuce she didn't care, just walked away. I took my plate to the bar and told the bartender I wasn't going to risk eating anything on the plate because the other veggies might be dirty as well. They owner came over to question me about the lettuce and I explained why I wasn't going to eat it. Her excuse was that the lettuce comes pre-washed. She started to get argumentative but we shut that down pretty quick. We tried to leave no tip because of the horrible service and dirty food but it had already been added because of the large group. Also they don't do seperate checks. We loved Riverside Grill and have no plans to visit Tipsy Trout every again.

I love this spot along the Frying Pan River. It's changed hands several times and we always hope for improvement. The menu looked good and the food when we got it was good. However the staff needs some serious customer service training. The service was incredibly slow and the head waitress or owner (not sure which) had definite attitude when my husband asked her a question about his order (it had chicken in it and he had asked for no chicken in the appetizer). We paid the bill and left after a VERY long lunch and discovered after we left that we had been charged a 20% tip because of a new computer system they had. One of our party called and was told we could call in and get a refund. I called and was told they "couldn't do shit" until we came back in. I live 25 miles down valley so thanks but no thanks. I hate to see a new restaurant with an amazing location get off to a bad start. They need to realize how much damage they can do with this attitude, and hopefully they will make some serious changes in the way they treat their customers or the same thing will happen to this new ownership that has happened in the past.
