Tips were generous because the staff were very attentive and friendly, offering insights into the minutiae of the drinks and dishes and they never made us feel rushed despite staying and sipping and snacking for a few hours. Price per plate can be a bit pricey but the food is beautifully presented with a lot of care/attention from the chef. Malort may not be my new favorite liquor, but it was well worth the visit and I had a fabulous time until I saw the bathroom (which is its own experience & I applaud the artistry) Price per person: $80–90 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Rochambeau feels like a restaurant designed by someone who loves the idea of dining more than the act of feeding people. It’s intimate in the way an elevator is intimate, with prices that suggest a serious culinary experience—one that never actually arrives. The menu reads ambitious; the plates arrive timid. Portions are so slight they border on parody, as if restraint were mistaken for refinement. Flavors are uneven and often muddled—nothing egregiously inedible, just profoundly forgettable. You keep waiting for a dish to land, to justify the pacing, the prices, the self-importance. It doesn’t. Cocktails are dressed up with clever names and precious descriptions, but the execution is hit-or-miss, leaning more experimental than enjoyable. Balance seems optional. At these prices, it shouldn’t be. Rochambeau is a masterclass in misplaced priorities: mood over meal, concept over competence. You leave hungry, poorer, and vaguely annoyed—not because it was terrible, but because it could have been something and chose not to be. Seattle deserves better than dining as a performance piece. Went here for Valentines day and we both really enjoyed the whole experience. Drinks and food were all amazing and the menu always changes based on the freshest ingredients they can source. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall I would say this is one of my favorite all around restaurants in the city. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $80–90 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
