Stopped by after watching it get built over the many weeks. It is so lush inside and vibes are great. I just got a latte and it was lovely. Price per person: £1–10

Dined there last night and took our dog. We were really impressed by the whole experience. Lovely staff and a superb chef. We will definitely be returning. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30

We came in for an early evening dinner and ordered a selection of small plates to share. There were some real highlights — the mussels were absolutely delicious (a couple were closed, but the rest were so good it didn’t spoil anything), the focaccia was lovely, the scallops were cooked perfectly, and the fries and olives were great too. The beef carpaccio tasted nice, though it wasn’t quite the delicate, finely sliced style I’m used to. The only real disappointment was the croquettes. We ordered both the beef rib and the Caerphilly cheese ones, and unfortunately neither had any flavour at all — even the accompanying sauce didn’t add anything. We tried both but didn’t eat them because they just weren’t enjoyable. We mentioned this to Ruby, who looked after us so well. She was genuinely lovely, apologised, and said she’d pass the feedback to the kitchen. The only thing that felt a bit off was that the croquettes were still left on the bill initially. When we spoke to Ruby again, she removed them straight away, which we really appreciated. She handled it brilliantly. As the restaurant is still quite new, a quick check-in from a manager would have made the experience feel a bit more joined-up, especially when something isn’t quite right. The rest of the meal was really enjoyable, and there’s clearly a lot of potential here — with a bit more consistency and attention to detail, it could be fantastic.
