Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Ballard. All their menu items are delicious and very reasonably priced. I adore their thai take on fajitas - the puffed roti make a nice change from tortillas and the sizzling fajita mix delivers every time. The tables and chairs are made from trees which adds character to this restaurant, and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

The ambience of this place is great! Classy and romantic. Service is fab too. But food? Not so much. We visited Root Table on weekday night and made it for the Happy hour that started at 9 pm. We ordered:the Grilled Steak bites- Pieces of steak in Panang Curry. While the curry sauce was nice, the steak was over cooked and really chewy. We couldn't really relish it.Roti and Curry: The roti was okay, a bit too oily. The curry had an overpowering flavor of Tumeric which I disliked. Cajun Calamari: I hated this one. No Cajun flavor, huge chunks of fried stuff and less calamari. Difficult to eat. Stuffed Mushroom: This was unlike what i was expecting. It was just mushroom topped with lots of corn peas and carrots. (Like those frozen Asian medleys)I was really surprised at the quality of the food here given the great reviews this has on yelp. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. Out of the 4 tapas dishes we ordered, I did not enjoy anything. The ambience is wonderful though. I might just give this place another try someday and try other items of the menu.
