Wish I can give a half star, it's so bad. Went this evening to roots hoping for a nice time with my husband but found the whole experience appalling. First, the food was poorly made and presented. The chicken burnt I can't even serve my visitors such chicken. The cuslaw has soured probably expired, we barely touched the food, it's so embarrassing. We felt ripped off by the poor standard but we had no energy for argument, so paid £41 and left. Please be aware roots is now under new ownership, don't be deceived by the previous ratings, that's old glory, don't be fooled by their decorations. It's a total disgrace cos they're our people and that's why it hurts more, as it doesn't represent our people.‍ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Bad service, salty food. Arrived at the restaurant ar 17.15 for a pre booked event. The restaurant is aware of the number of guests, still no provision was made for serve. Food arriving about 40mins apart. Salty food and it was the customer that is serving the guest. Very poor service. Please use this feedback to do better . Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Very horrible service for such a “seemingly popular place”. First time there, as we don’t live in Manny. Drove almost an hour just to get to them. I called them prior to know if I had to make a reservation or I could just walk in. I was told “no need for reservations”. Showed up and met the place half full. An “uncle” walked over and informed us straight up that they couldn’t sit us as all their tables was “reserved”. I told him I specifically called and spoke to him and he told me to come. Then he backtracked and grudgingly said we could sit at a table. We walked up to the table and are about to sit when another “Uncle” walked up to us and very rudely and loudly told us we couldn’t sit as their tables were “fully reserved” for the night. We just wanted food. We weren’t interested in any stupid night party. 45 mins tops and we would’ve been out of there. The man basically said he couldn’t care less if we left, and so we shamefully did. After driving an hour to get to them AFTER WE CALLED TO CONFIRM RESERVATIONS. They’re honestly not fit to be in service to anybody and I would very much discourage anyone from going there. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
