walked in without reservation, got a private room, tasted some of the best wagyu beef we have had all Japan trip. Incredible hospitality, highly recommend ! Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I made a reservation and visited with 2 people on 2024/8/12. Ryuan has a store in the Gion Shijo area. The nearest station is Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Railway, but we headed from Kyoto Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Railway. Conveniently located, approximately 4 minutes walk from Kawaramachi Station. When you enter the store from the entrance, you will see wine, sake, shochu, etc. lined up on the walls of the aisle. Ryuan is a restaurant where you can enjoy both food and drinks. All seats are completely private rooms, ensuring your privacy. You can hear the voices of the staff and other customers, but you can relax and not worry about what people around you think. There are also multiple hangers available for hanging your jackets. The lunch menu is generally reasonably priced. I ordered the grilled red meat shabu lunch (includes thinly sliced meat, salad, small side dish, pickles, rice, miso soup, and dessert). Grilled lean meat shabu lunch 1,450 yen (tax included) The type and parts of meat seem to change depending on the day. On this day, it was a Kobe beef (or maybe?) lamp. Thinly sliced red meat is quickly grilled and eaten with grated ponzu sauce. If you overcook it, the meat will stick to the grill, so it's okay to sear it lightly. It was not greasy, easy to eat, soft and delicious! Salads consist of vegetables such as lettuce, mizuna, and tomatoes topped with dressing. The sour dressing was delicious. The small bowl is boiled radish. There were two types of pickles: radish and cucumber. Refills of rice are available. When I tried eating it, I felt that the amount was larger than it looked. The ingredients for the miso soup were simple, but it was delicious with Kyoto-style seasoning. Dessert is rich matcha ice cream. Cold ice cream is perfect for midsummer. Considering the location, the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the quality of the meat, I think the price is quite reasonable. If you're going for lunch, it's a great value! According to the employee from Switzerland, ``A lot of foreign customers come here at night.'' When I visited, it was lunch time, so the atmosphere inside the restaurant was quiet. The staff's customer service was also polite. I often go to Kyoto, so I would like to eat there again.
