I was looking forward to this pizza joint for sometime now. The person working there seemed annoyed with me walking in at 2:12pm and they close at 230pm . This same employee ( I didn’t even get his name, white guy with a beard) was nice enough ( so I thought ) to ask what I had going on for the rest of the day, in return I asked the same and he said “ well the pre school doesn’t like me being late” in a snarky tone , so I asked “ you have kids to pick up?” He goes on “ yes, but I can be a few minutes late “ I wanted to reply with - ‘ they should close at 2pm if being open until 230pm was an inconvenience. ‘ I just chose to sit there and wait patiently for my order. I originally wanted to order the Angry Hawaiian with no bacon and was told that request isn’t possible due to there being a pre made mixture of the pepperoni, bacon, pineapple etc. I didn’t realize fresh pizza would have pre made toppings. I ordered the pepperoni half slab $27. While waiting, for my order I noticed this employee coughing while assembling boxes of pizzas together. No mask , just open air coughing. I should have just cancelled my order and left. I was the only customer there and the vibe was definitely off and tense. Once my order was finished at 2:27pm the employee says in a rushed tone “ Here you go!” Gave me my pizza and I left. Yikes. I took a few bites of my pizza, I give it a solid 4/ 10. I wouldn’t go back due to the terrible customer service and I will be sure to tell others this isn’t worth it. I understand people have bad days but I also understand professional customer service. This ain’t it. You’re better off at getting pizza from day/night markets from Open Circle and Luna Bites, the service and quality is way better. Period. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Friendly efficient staff. Wonderful food, tasty and hot We’d never had pizza like this before and we’ll be back! A quarter slab was certainly enough of a meal for each of us! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Pretend you're an American and you're new to Auckland. And you start trying pizza and you discover that Auckland and pizza are not, traditionally speaking, two things that go together. Like salami doesn't belong on pizza, and you can't just call it pepperoni and pretend it belongs on your pie. I mean you can eat it, but you're better off with fish and chips or a Sunday Roast. And then you find Slabs. And you're skeptical because you've been burned so many times. And you try some and all of a sudden, you see God. It's so good that for a minute you don't miss home. You may cry a little, and that's okay, it's an emotional experience to eat pizza this good. Seriously the best pizza I've eaten since I left the States. And I've been here a while. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
