Order screen didn't work couldn't pay at menu board. Burger patty was old, dark and cold. Employees arguing with a customer about food. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I visit the Giddings Sonic frequently and almost always order through the Sonic app. Until today, I have never had an issue with either my orders or the service. Today, I ordered two drinks through the app, selected my stall number, and received confirmation that my order was being prepared and would be delivered by Melanie. After waiting 10–15 minutes, despite the location not appearing busy, my husband pressed the assistance button. A young employee came out and said she could not see my order on her end. I showed her the app, including the order date, location, stall number, and proof that the $3.17 had already been paid. She told me she would take care of it and bring the drinks out shortly. We waited another 15 minutes and still received nothing. By this point, I was upset because she had heard me tell my son that his drink was coming. I finally walked to the door and spoke to the same employee. She identified herself as Martha (red hair), although she was not wearing a name tag to verify that. I asked if she had my drinks, and she said yes. When I asked her to give them to me, she said she couldn’t because a receipt had not generated on their end. I reminded her that I had already shown proof that the order was paid. Another employee then handed me my drinks while Martha stood there smirking as if the situation was amusing. I commented, “All this over a $3 order,” and Martha responded, “Don’t come to Sonic then.” That response was completely unprofessional. The issue was never about the cost of the order—it was about customer service and basic respect. I waited to speak with the manager, Michael, who apologized and offered free food. My goal in speaking to him wasn’t not to receive free food. What this location needs is better-trained staff who know how to handle customer concerns respectfully and professionally. And clearly, there is additional issues at this location based on the reviews. Service: 1

Just sent my husband over to the Sonic Drive-In in Giddings for my usual drink and chili cheese fries. My drink was fine, but my chili cheese fries tasted off and it wasn't until I almost broke my tooth on them that I had realized why.. There was a huge rock like glob of what I am guessing was old grease and fries.. Disgusting. I immediately threw up and threw the rest out!! Has always been one of my favorite fast food places, but I will never return to the Giddings location.
