I was craving a Banh Mi & since im new to the area I hadn't established my go to Banh Mi place. After some light googling I decided to go with Saigon Basil. Upon looking at the menu online I was intrigued that they offered french fries with a banh mi! Clearly that should have been my 1st clue that this was about to go bad. Nevertheless, I ordered banh mi combo, spring rolls, and Thai tea. I can absolutely say it was one of the worst banh mi I have tasted. 50% of what makes a good banh mi is the bread. It must be a french bread not some random roll. I was horrified when I opened it. First, it was small, not your usual banh mi size. Secondly, the bread was a random roll, yeah imagine craving a real banh mi with all the crunch! I paid $27 for this whole meal (uber eats) and was PO'd. Now lets get to the springroll....Ayayay it was bland, like im not spring roll expert but what happened to the mint that gives it that crispy flavor? And why wasn't the peanut sauce topped with Sriracha? The only thing I truly e joked was the Thai tea. If I was forced to come back, the Thai tea is certainly something id try again.
