Grate food was at the table fast. I love the inside and the service was great. But hashbrowns smelled a bit old. Walked in. Plenty of staff but no one was interested in helping us. Someone finally gave us menus and put us at a dirty table. We waited a while for a waitress to serve us. She took our drink order then ran off as my husband tried to tell her we were ready to go order. The good part about this place is the pot pies are really good. The potatoes do not taste real, which is a shame. We got the food rather quickly. The pot pie was warm, not hot. The vegetables tasted like frozen ones. I have to say, if I had a concept like this, I would totally run with it! Freshen up the inside with new, updated decor and hire people that want to work! Not good enough to go back. Thanks for the feedback. This restaurant completes approximately 350 transactions on a weekend day. We have a small staff that does their best to accommodate each section of the restaurant. We sell over 85% of our menu made from scratch items but we do incorporate flash frozen vegetables due to the transaction count. Have a good day More

Nothing like visiting one of San Diego's oldest restaurants, the San Diego Chicken Pie Shop, a local favorite for 85 years! Today, I enjoyed the Corned Beef & Cabbage lunch for St. Patrick's Day! The beef had a delicious flavor and I dipped it in a cup of gravy. The sides, potatoes, carrots, and green beans went along well with the cabbage too.
