drove from bowmanville to try this spot after seeing amazing food reviews and was saddened to see the doors locked and the open sign turned off. their website says they opened at 11am and it was past 2pm on a friday when we arrived. businesses that do this really bother me. if i could have given zero stars, i would have

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sandies. in Brooklin. They took over the space previously occupied by El Jefe. Their new menu features sandwiches and smash burgers, done right! Their smash burgers are so tender and moist! I had their Spicy Habanero and my friend had The Brooklin Classic. Both burgers were excellent but I have to give it to The Brooklin Classic for presentation. It looked great and they were both delicious! The Steak & Frites sandwich was so good, with tender beef, and each ingredient complementing each other. This could easily become my favourite! Their Shoestring Fries were thin and crispy but their Sweet Potato Fries took the flavour up another notch. Delicious! I love salads and their Classic Caesar Salad with Chicken (add-on) was very good - fresh lettuce, crunchy croutons, and nice dressing. I was truly impressed with this meal and will definitely be back. Other offerings include chicken sandwiches, a spicy mackerel melt, a vegetarian mushroom sandwich, and a beet & goat cheese salad.
