We went for a friend's graduation and, as the booking was for 17 of us, we were offered a buffet menu and we notified them of specific dietary requirements in advance.
Our reservation was for 7 pm but our starters only arrived at 8.15 pm. The pasta course which followed was only brought to our table at 9.30 pm. The pasta was mussels, which I do not eat, and no alternative was offered despite it supposedly being a buffet. The waiter offered to supply an alternative but as we had already waited over two hours, I didn’t want to wait any longer. However, despite my request, he brought another plate of pasta at 9.55 pm.
Furthermore, my partner had his mussels removed by the waiter after he had dished them onto his plate and was told they were not halal as they were cooked with wine. He was then offered pea gnocchi but no other choice.
In addition, my son’s pasta with mussels was inedible! The gluten free pasta was dry and hard and the dish contained pieces of broken mussel shells.
At 10 pm, I asked the waiter how long it would be before the main course was ready and he said he didn’t know. I also asked what the main course consisted of and was told that he wasn’t allowed to tell me! As we had already been at the restaurant for three hours and the waiter couldn’t tell me how much longer we had to wait for the main course, we decided to leave as I had to be home by 10.30 pm to relieve my babysitter.
All in all, the food was very poor quality and the service was absolutely appalling!
