One of our favorite places ever for years. Honest, consistently good cuisine, a unique ambience whether you sit on the meadow or in the dining rooms inspired by the Bregenz Forest & great service. The wine list leaves nothing to be desired and there is something to suit every mood. We only stayed at the hotel once, which is also highly recommended - the quality of the breakfast in particular was excellent. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

The Schlegelhof in the Dreisamtal, the very entry to the Black Forest, certainly features the most spectacular and elegant, yet cozy restaurant garden of any of the good places in the greater Freiburg area. Talking about scenic! Martin Schlegels family run hotel and restaurant is a place for excellent Badische fare and mediterranen cooking, without showy additions. His Schnitzels and his fries are almost legendary, at the same time he has made a name for his fresh fish dishes as well. The wine list is nothing short of outstanding, try some hidden treasures of Badische and German gems. The excellent service completes a memorable visit to this friendly, family orientated place in just a most beautiful location! Service: 5
