The best thing Gelsenkirchen has ever seen. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is super familiar. When I went there for karaoke for the first time with my friends, we immediately felt welcome! Although there were only older people there, my friends and I (19-21) felt very comfortable and had a nice evening there. The prices are very cheap so you can actually afford something, which I think is great especially considering inflation and the fact that many people in Gelsenkirchen have very little in their pockets. The staff works there with passion and on a voluntary basis, so don't forget to tip when you're there ;) I can only recommend everyone to stop by here!! Cozy cafe with nice people. There is a wide range of drinks from cocktails (non-alcoholic if desired) to beer, coffee and soft drinks and delicious snacks (cake, bockwurst with potato salad, real Ruhrpott currywurst with homemade sauce and much more) Price per person: €1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

THE LOCAL IS COMPLETELY BARRIER-FREE! Wheelchair users are very welcome here! Beautiful and special place for a cozy stop with coffee and fresh cake every day as well as nice conversations with lovely people. The restaurant is very well maintained and clean. The entire “castle team”, which is made up of volunteers, is extremely warm and particularly committed! Here you feel very welcome as a guest alone or with someone! A special location in Gelsenkrchen's old town: Café, cabaret, pub and cocktail bar in one! On Tuesdays, fresh and extremely delicious waffles are baked in the "Schoß" ("Anke's Waffle Day"). Brand new: From 6 p.m. there is a delicious currywurst with homemade sauce + half a roll for €3,50! You can now also have breakfast in the “Schoß” from €3.50 (see notice) Every Tuesday afternoon there is live music with Norbert Labatzki aka "Mr. Mambo", with free entry! (Donations possible, but not mandatory) What is also very interesting is the establishment of this extraordinary meeting center for all generations. The so-called “art toilets”, in which the walls have been artistically decorated with funny paintings, is worth seeing. Not everyone has a toilet like that. Furthermore, special cultural events such as readings, exhibitions and music events take place in the premises of "Schloß Stolzenfelz", which are absolutely recommended! Since February 17, 2023, the “Schoß” has also been open as a popular meeting place on opening days, serving alcoholic drinks. Other snacks are also offered. A visit to this extraordinary and iconic restaurant is definitely worth it! OPENING HOURS: TUE, WED, THURS: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m FRI, SA: 10 a.m. to midnight CLOSED SUNDAY AND MONDAY I very much hope that "Schloß Stolzenfelz" with its likeable "castle lord" Norbert Labatzki, his humorous brother Roland Labatzki, who conjures up the delicious cocktails, and his lovely, very hard-working volunteer team will continue to enrich the city center of Gelsenkirchen for a long time to come.
