My wife and I recently celebrated her birthday at The Shelby Downtown Detroit, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we had chosen the perfect place. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible. The venue has a unique old-bank aesthetic that gives it a sophisticated, historic, and upscale feel while still being warm and inviting. Every detail of the space adds to the experience, making it one of the most visually impressive cocktail lounges we’ve visited in Detroit. The drinks were top-tier. Every cocktail was expertly crafted, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Even more impressive was the pricing—especially considering the quality of the drinks, service, and overall experience. The value was outstanding. What truly made our night special was the exceptional service from Yamina. She was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. When she learned we were celebrating my wife’s birthday, the staff made us feel incredibly welcomed and accommodated. They even surprised us with champagne, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration feel even more special. The combination of amazing service, incredible drinks, beautiful ambiance, and genuine hospitality made this a night to remember. We loved every second of our visit and are already looking forward to coming back. Great experience at the shelby. Made our reservation through Open Table and noted we were coming for a birthday. When we got there they surprised us by having a birthday card for her, and chatting with the host later, she told me that they would have personalized it more if I put any details in the reservation. When they found out it was her 21st they brought out glasses of champagne and our server was very attentive and kind. We saw that they can do private parties and it seems like it would be a great place for one! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The vibe of the speakeasy was great. Really cozy and the cocktails were good. Had a fun time. Being a speakeasy do not expect food but we took nut mix and a chocolate mousse which was great to finish it off. It was fun to be inside a bank vault. Price per person: $30–40 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
