Hawthorn by Wyndham in Killeen has been a wonderful hotel for my husband and I. Despite their amenities being down due to an ownership transfer and rebranding, the staff and the rooms are exceptional. Older, but nonetheless clean and exceptional. If you’re looking for a clean and well maintained cozy hotel, this is it. It hasn’t fallen trap to the ugly modernization sweep yet. We did file a ‘complaint’ about the lack of amenities just so Wyndham could get it sped up. It is not the hotel staffs fault! The management and staff are exceptional people. You will not find friendlier in Killeen.

I wish there was something good to say. I've stayed at this hotel before and had a good experience, but that was years ago before my good friend who was the sales manager here passed away. I booked this hotel through Chase Travel with the understanding that it had a swimming pool. "The only indoor heated swimming pool in Killeen" per Expedia. I hyped it up to my daughters. They were devastated to find the pool was closed and my disappointment only began there. As I checked in, the manager told me, "We are allowed to offer you free cancellation because the pool is closed." I didn't know how cancellation would work through Chase, so I checked in and called them. Apparently I have to stay here or be charged the whole stay. The room is filthy, everything is worn, the TV is a 25" tube TV, and all of the rest of the fittings are just as dated. Avoid this place, unless your only other choice is under a bridge.

Would not recommend if staying more than one night. Hotel smells, bad WiFi and outdated amenities. TVs don’t even have HDMI ports. Manager was rude and assured me they WILL NOT accommodate all your needs simple or not. Currently cancelling and booking some where else. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
