Permanently closed after 25 years in business - inflation(rent and food prices) and fewer customers killed them. This is a growing trend in downtown Chicago. Please remember this when we vote for public officials.

It was good while it was open but now it is closed, at least per the signs in the window. A real loss.

I used to stop by for lunch a couple times a month from 2017 to recently. I would get their Singapore noodles and a pint of the BBQ pork, maybe an egg roll or Crab Rangoon, and the leftovers would be great for dinner later or a Saturday breakfast. They were open until 7:30 on weeknights, so I would also stop by to take home dinner when I worked late, as the Loop was a ghost town even pre-COVID aside from some fancier sitdown spots. Service was quick, not super-personal, but it's a lunch counter, not a ritzy spot with wait staff and jazz music--expecting a lot more is silly. They were always pleasant to the regulars, and I never had a bad meal, although I generally stuck with the favorites I mentioned above. Not super-complex flavors, but great for what it is. Or maybe was. When I went by at about 5:15 on Friday, January 15, 2021, sadly they seemed to be closed (see picture) and had been for quite a while--with the pandemic I've mostly been working from home and hadn't been in the Loop since June, and it was deserted (for example, usually about 400 people get off the Brown Line at Washington & Wells at 8 am. It was literally me and five other people getting off at thay same time). There were a couple of homeless folks sleeping in the boarded-up revolving door. I hope the closure is temporary, but it's hard to say what's happening with businesses that rely on a concentration of workers. My company is closing my whole division down later in the year, but if I'm working in the same part of the Loop and 65 Chinese reopens, I'll for sure be back regularly. Already missing those noodles--aside from my also-closed (years ago) Chung King Lo in Skokie, no one gets the fried spicy noodles quite right...
