Waitstaff staff is awful. We had to wait forever to get our drinks and then when she came to take our order she told us it would be 20 mins for our food because the kitchen was behind but they only had 5 tables including us in the building. We had to flag someone down every time we needed something. When it was time to pay I finally got up and went to the register where two girls were chatting and didn’t even acknowledge me. I had to ask twice if I could pay my Bill. The food was ok. Our order came out separately one plate came out 10 minutes before the other. Pancakes were burnt and were supposed to be over medium but were hard. I said something to the waitress who said f they had to remake it it would be another 20 minutes.

The location has changed from some of the pics and also the menu items. Recently they added breakfast and my omelet was excellent. The bread is always homemade and wonderful, especially on the burgers.

Smitty's is a happy discovery! We were resigned to hitting the eternally nostalgic This Must Be Heaven for Sunday lunch but noticed the epic woodwork on the window tables at Smitty's and loved what we found. The owner (Callie) has created a fun dining space with a playful, varied and delicious menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the giant German burger (half-pound w red onions, sauerkraut, mustard) and my companion really loved the Texas toast-sized grilled cheese w turkey sandwich. Decor is old timey Texas and there is a poolhall/bar down the hallway! Service was always cheerful and friendly. This is the first bakery/cafe I have found that I like better than the one my sister ran for a decade in Minnesota.
