Just as good as eating in Hawaii. So grateful to have this place in Tucson! We loved everything, but especially the mac salad, bang shrimp, kalbi ribs and katsu chicken. We will definitely be back. It's worth the drive! I am from Oahu and I am Hawaiian. This place was NOT worth it. •The bang shrimp was alright (shrimp slightly overcooked) but the sauce was spot on. •The Kalbi beef short ribs was tough and flavorless like they didn’t marinate it & definitely overcooked it. •The Spicy Mochiko fried chicken was dry and nothing special. I’ve had better. •Mac salad was totally American not Hawaiian mac saladchef, the secret is Hawaiians toss the cooked mac noodles in minced onion and apple cider vinegar before pouring the mayo carrot seasoned sauce over it. It’s what makes Hawaiian mac salad ONO. Please try to do better here. •Also, the rice was hecka dry. Sticky rice go home or what? Honestly, maybe the cook needs a trip to Hawaii to be reminded of what truly delicious Hawaiian food tastes like. (I know some Hawaiian food is adopted). Not trying to be mean, but where is the Hawaiian pride in this food? Please do better. The service was ok, but nothing special. Where was the Aloha spirit? .Unfortunately, it was no where to be seen at Solid Grindz. Totally fooled by the name of this place.nothing solid grindz about it. Such a let down.
