Southdale Village Family RestaurantA customer review by Hassan HawashAugust 24, 2020Southdale Village Family RestaurantI have had two visits to this restaurant in the last month. It was pretty clear to see where the world ‘village’ comes into play in the name of this eatery. I mean the gentleman I met seemed to be greeted by all those from the serving personnel. What’s more, several of the patrons greeted him as well, “hey, Bob I see you’re still standing, eh?’ Bob pointed out to me that the paintings on the wall all belonged to various members of staff who he could identify. Each painting told a little story about that member of staff. It was just yet another mark of how community a restaurant it is to first of all retain the members of staff they do, but also the connection they have with their regulars like Bob. ‘So, Bob, tell me now what does good service mean to you,’ I queried. Well, I want to see that cup pretty well full the duration of the time I’m in here. True to form, the serving personnel did not disappoint. Our coffee cups got a lot of attention during our meeting time. It’s was hardly any time before we had menus in our hands. Soon after thinking we had enough time to look over the various selections, our waitress was on hand to ask if were ready to order. Bob had a pretty good idea that he would go with the special of the day which was part of the seniors special. I thought to myself that lucky Bob. He gets to avail of the senior special. No sooner had I said that outloud did the waitress say ‘you can be considered a senior too.’ But, but I’m not. Just go ahead an order, says she. So, I decided on the chicken fingers like Bob with a salad to Bob’s soup. It was really not too long before we had our meals ready for our lunch. The fingers were nice and crispy. The salad was fresh with my balsamic vinegar on the side. Bob appeared to be happy with his chicken noodle soup. Perry, the manager, came round every so often to see how we were doing.With all that said, I was satisfied with the meal knowing pretty well what I was going to get. My expectations were set according to where I was and I was not disappointed. Most of all I was very happy with the great friendly service.
