Went to Square Coffee to buy some coffees during the Gordon Bennett stopover on 31st May. After ordering and paying, I looked down at the floor and was shocked to see a trail of blood on the ground. It formed two distinct lines leading from the entrance, past the counter and back out the door. It had not been cleaned up, cordoned off or addressed by any member of staff. To make matters worse, a small child was actually walking right through it and spreading it further across the floor. Discovering a significant amount of bodily fluid on the floor of any establishment is completely unacceptable and a major health hazard. I am incredibly unhappy with this experience. Obviously, I did not drink my coffee and binned it at the earliest opportunity. We have purchased many beverages and treats in Square coffee over the last few years in an effort to support a local business, but after seeing such an appalling lack of basic hygiene and safety standards, we will not be returning. Hi Deirdre. This is a very disappointing and potentially a very damaging review. To set the record straight, the blood in question was from a dog, one we know, brought in by a regular customer. She was unaware and so where we until someone brought it to our attention. It was cleaned and disinfected by me without fuss, possibly 18 years working in veterinary makes me think blood isn’t as offensive as some. Squares hygiene policy is very strict and is upheld to a very high standard. If you are unhappy about this, please talk to us. We thank you for supporting our business over the years. You wrote this as if you should be commended for doing so, maybe think about how this review might affect our business going forward. If this comes across ranty I apologise, I love to discuss constructive criticism, and this is certainly not that. Regards, Alan

Such a gorgeous coffee shop, really funky art on the walls and a chilled vibe! They've used the space so well and the seating is great! Love going there with my kids for a coffee and a chat while sharing some pastries. The coffee is divine, best in Kildare for me and the staff are so friendly and talented! I go there on the weekly, ots dog friendly too which a great Meal type: Other Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
