I’ve been coming to this Starbucks regularly, and unfortunately I had a disappointing experience today. When I went to pay, the sun was shining directly on the card reader, making it very difficult to see the screen. I thought I had already selected an option and started to tap my card. Instead of politely explaining that I needed to choose a tip option first, an older employee looked at me and said, “You have to choose a tip or we are going to be staring at each other.” The comment came across as rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I completely understand that a selection needs to be made before payment can be processed, but there was no reason to speak to a customer in that tone. The glare on the screen made it difficult to see, and it certainly wasn’t intentional on my part. Customer service is about treating people with patience and respect. I’ve always enjoyed coming to this location, which made this interaction especially disappointing. I hope management addresses this so other customers don’t have a similar experience. Service: 1
