I ordered a glass of water, as I have done each visit, and today was told by the young lady serving (I didn't take her name as I was too annoyed to ask, but she was young, slim, with a bun in her hair. She was the only young girl serving in the restaurant today), that I wasn't allowed water..apparently the only water the establishment has is hot for washing pots, and if I wanted a drink I'd have to buy a bottle.
To make matters worse when she cleaned the table I was sat at, she covered both myself and my sleeping ten month old son in a bleachy smelling cleaning spray. Luckily my son had a thin blanket covering his legs, so his skin won't become irritated.
As it happens I had a little bit of water with me, as I am currently undergoing hospital treatment for a life changing issue which causes me great difficulty in swallowing solid food - this is why when I was told I wasn't allowed a glass of water (which I have had every single time I have visited the restaurant, and which I even used to serve myself when I covered a few shifts three years ago) I was incredibly frustrated as I knew she was lying to me in front of other customers.
Unfortunately due to my medical situation and having no drink I found it incredibly hard to swallow my meal; if I'd have known I was going to be put in such an embarrassing position I either would have brought more money with me, or I simply would not have gone.
I hope she doesn't serve me again, if I choose to go back.
