We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your visit, but we cannot accept this version of events without responding clearly. Our DJs and team will always do their best to accommodate requests where possible, but they also have to consider the whole venue, the wider atmosphere, and the many other guests in the building. It was politely explained to your group on several occasions that the DJ could not simply change the entire music style to suit one particular party. What your review does not mention is the increasingly rude and unpleasant behaviour directed towards our DJ and staff over a prolonged period, including members of your group repeatedly surrounding the DJ area, one person dancing up against him, and one member of your party attempting pull at the DJ equipment off the desk. It was this incident which finally prompted the DJ to lose his cool, having endured the inappropriate and rude behaviour of your group for three hours. There was also a threat of physical violence made towards the DJ, with one of the party shouting to the bar manager: “You need to go and have a word with the DJ before I go back there and hit him”. That is completely unacceptable. All of our staff, DJs and managers deserve to be treated with respect. We will never tolerate abusive behaviour, intimidation, threats, or attempts to interfere with equipment. Had management or security been made fully aware of the extent of the behaviour at the time, your group would have been asked to leave immediately. We are a busy cocktail bar in Bath with DJs, a terrace, late-night music and a broad mix of guests. We want everyone to have a great time, especially hen parties, but that has to happen in a way that is respectful to our team and to other customers. Given the behaviour reported by multiple staff members, we do not feel Sub 13 is the right venue for your group in future, and we would ask that you do not attempt to book with us again.
