Went in there just to get a coffee and decided to stay and try their food. The breakfast tacos lacked flavor the tortilla was dry and the salsa tasted like they just belended green tomatoes and called it a day. The breakfast bowl had eggs that lacked salt, the kale salad was plain and it just lacked flavor. The place looks nice but looks will not bring me back to eat at this establishment. I reserved and paid for a private room for 20 people at Sunday Press and placed a food order for my event four weeks in advance. Everything was confirmed via email, and the communication clearly indicated that they were looking forward to hosting our group. When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was completely packed. When I asked about our private room, I was told that they "don't do reservations on weekends." I showed the staff the email chain confirming both the reservation and food order, but they continued to insist there was nothing they could do. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, they claimed they had assumed my order was for catering, despite the emails explicitly stating they would be hosting us on-site. What was most frustrating was the attitude from most of the staff. Rather than trying to help resolve the situation, I repeatedly heard that there was nothing they could do because they couldn't ask anyone to move. After weeks of planning and a confirmed reservation, this was incredibly disappointing and stressful. The one bright spot was a staff member who spoke with me in Spanish and genuinely tried to help. She was the only person who showed empathy and worked to find a solution. Thanks to her efforts, our group was eventually accommodated in a corner area. It wasn't what we had reserved or paid for, but it was better than being turned away entirely. Mistakes happen, but what really matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, Sunday Press failed both in honoring a confirmed reservation and in providing reasonable customer service when the issue was brought to their attention.
