Dosa was very good, just like Bangalore dosa. But the chutney was disappointing. Too much ginger in the chutney, spoiled the entire experience.

This is easily my favorite Bangalore-style dosa in the Bay Area, maybe even in the entire US! :) I first visited this place when it was still just a weekend food truck, so I was really happy to see it eventually turn into a restaurant. It’s still very much a takeout-style restaurant. Even if you choose to eat there, they serve everything in to-go containers. That said, they do have plenty of tables if you want to dine in. It’s not really a traditional sit-down restaurant, i ordered at the counter and picked up food once it’s ready. The Mysore Masala Dosa is obviously the star of the menu and is absolutely delicious! The Pudi Idly and Set Dosa were just okay for me, but their Khara Bath is absolutely BOMB. I also LOVE their Congress Khara Bun packets that they sell, I always have to grab one! I’ll definitely keep coming back to try more things on the menu. So happy to have a place like this in the Bay Area! :). Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

What I really appreciate about Surya Darshini Dosa Cafe is not just the dosa - which is incredible - or the quality of the food overall. I really appreciate the people behind it - you can very clearly see the passion with which they make the food, as well as the respect with which the owners speak to you, which carries through to the food, starting from personally quality tested ingredients. Every time I've gone there, I've enjoyed the food and the ambience. I hope to see them have a very large restaurant and grow and grow and grow. They are a fantastic establishment, and I love to support in any way I can over the years.
