We got this omakase restaurant recommended by a friend a couple of years ago but haven't had the chance to try until recently. It was hard to get a table and ultimately it came down to luck (or connections maybe) getting a slot. The restaurant is small and sits around 10-12 people at a time, split into a tatami area (4 pax) and the main counter (8 pax I think), and each dining slot is 3 hours. We got seated on a Thursday evening at 8pm. The welcome and service were personal and attentive. Since this is omakasa one doesn't get to choose the food. There is no dinner menu, only a drinks/wine/sake list. We got a total of 20 servings which sounds like a lot, and it was, but the amount was just right - not too much, not too little. We got full but could still walk out. Generally, the quality of the food was very high! From the freshness of the produce, the blend and nuances of the taste experience, and finally to the presentation of each serving, the dining experience was astonishing. Mind you this is NOT California style sushi where one cannot distinguish between the tastes of the servings and everything was up tasting like nori, mayo and deep fried shrimp. Each serving was a distinct and unique experience for the tastebuds. This is definitely a must-try if you are looking for Japanese with a slight Danish/Nordic twist in this part of the world. Sushi Anaba now ranks amongst my top picks in Copenhagen. We visited in July 2022.
