If you love sushi and you’re anywhere near Santa Rosa or Sebastopol in Northern California, you HAVE to visit Sushi Tozai. I’m a complete sushi freak, and honestly this is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life — and I’ve eaten sushi all over the world, even in Japan. From the maguro to the hamachi to the toro, everything is unbelievably fresh and perfectly prepared. The sushi rolls are amazing too. You can immediately taste the quality of the fish and the care they put into every piece. The restaurant itself is also beautiful, with a warm bamboo design and atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel authentic, peaceful, and special from the moment you walk in. This place is truly unforgettable. I still miss it and can’t wait to go back. If you appreciate real, high-quality sushi, this spot is absolutely worth the trip. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Sushi Tozai is hands down one of the best sushi spots in Sebastopol! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has a relaxed, comfortable vibe, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal with family or friends. Katarina and Miranda serve some of the best customer service I have ever seen. Management was also very welcoming and courteous. The quality of the sushi is unbeatable. The fish is fresh, the rolls are expertly crafted, and the flavors are spot on. I particularly love their specialty rolls – each one is unique and packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients that perfectly complement the fish. Whether you're a sushi novice or a seasoned fan, there’s something for everyone here. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready with great recommendations if you're not sure what to try. I also love the cozy, intimate setting that makes each visit feel special. The service is always quick, but they take the time to ensure you have a wonderful experience. Overall, Sushi Tozai is a must-visit in Sebastopol if you’re a sushi lover. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a leisurely meal, you can't go wrong here. I can’t recommend it enough – I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
