t was delicious. Wonderful. Moving. Original. The perfect balance of flavours. I was sitting in Utrecht one evening, somewhere between the canals and the ordinary rhythm of the day, when I opened the box from SushiPoint on Pasteurstraat 1. And suddenly the world slowed down. There was no noise. No pretension. Only a quiet moment in which every piece seemed to say: “I’m here for you.”. The salmon was so fresh it tasted like a memory of the sea, gently wrapped in rice. The avocado was soft as a quiet promise that everything would be alright. The crispy elements offered a contrast that never shouted — it only whispered “I’m here to surprise you.” And the sauces… they didn’t dominate. They danced. The perfect balance. Sweetness, acidity, umami and a touch of heat — all in such harmony that for a moment I forgot I was eating. I was simply feeling. This wasn’t just food. It was a small, intimate conversation with pure joy. Every bite carried something original — not through extravagance, but through sincerity. As if someone in the kitchen truly wanted you to smile. And I did. Deeply. Honestly. With that quiet gratitude that appears when something is simply… good. What moved me most was that after the last piece I didn’t feel emptiness. I felt fullness. As if someone had reminded me that beauty can be simple: fresh ingredients, craftsmanship, care, and that perfect balance that leaves a taste in you longer than the meal itself. SushiPoint in Utrecht didn’t try to dazzle me. It enchanted me by simply being itself — delicious, wonderful, original and so touchingly balanced. Thank you. Truly, thank you. Because sometimes the best things in the world arrive in a box… and leave something in your heart that you can’t order again. You can only feel it.
