If anyone is around and looking for a bite to eat, I’d highly recommend The Swan. Atmosphere was great, service by the lady owner was superb, really friendly and approachable. We were visiting for food, so I’m unable to review the rooms. I had the beef Sunday roast, and my partner the fish and chips. The beef was incredible, and so tender, all the sides were delicious too. It’s not often I finish my plate, but I just had to work this meal. My partner said the fish and chips were fantastic too, although some small feedback about the batter to fish ratio. We were able to bring our dog in, and I had the pleasure of sitting next to the pub owners collie, who was beautiful! We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again, thank you Service: 5

The review is for the food (lunch) experience only. Professional service but felt a bit cold, in contrast to the warm and cosy pub decor and the lovely and friendly dog that greeted everyone happily! We loved the starters. The arancini were beautifully cooked and the garlicky sauce enhanced the flavours. The mussels on toast were super tasty, personally I would prefer a toasted sourdough slice of bread for stronger flavour, but I enjoyed it. The mains were both quite filling. The chicken schnitzel was perfectly cooked, as was the hake. Our only comment was that the sauces in both dishes were quite buttery, which made our lunch feel heavy. However, taste-wise they were both great. The prices are slightly on the expensive side, but I would expect that for the quality of the food. Overall a nice experience and I would happily visit again if in the area. Service: 4

Another delicious lunch at the Swan, duck today, beautifully cooked and served with the Swan's perfect vegetables. Followed by buttermilk panacotta with rhubarb which looked exquisite and tasted sublime. In all, great food, generous in portion and good value.
