Reading through some of the lower star reviews I think some people don’t really “get it” - this is a seasonal bar, with a food truck offering service from the parking lot. If you need a place to try “fresh” new cuisine or entertain your kids for an hour, this probably is not that. If you want to have a beer and see some other people from town who may stop through, and have a French fry while you’re at it, this place is sweet. Beer and wine, cocktails are canned. Simple. Food: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Great location! Lake views make this the perfect, casual, place to hang. We were tour cycling through and stopped for a beer and food. Got the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and it was really good with a big solid piece of chicken and excellent seasoning. Met the owners who are super chill. Loved it so much we came back! Got the fish Po' boy sandwich "special" this time and though it was good, I wish I had gotten the chicken! Food is from the food truck. The beers "on tap" were actually cans when we were there, but there was a good variety. If I find myself on Grand Isle again, I will definitely be visiting The Rest Stop once more!
